Fine&Far is a space devoted to chronicling California's North Coast through the lens of fly fishing while also providing a local fly fishing guide service in Humboldt, Trinity and Del Norte County.
Drew Griffith has been a devoted fisherman since he was a kid. He started fly fishing at age ten with his father during family vacations to places like Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado, and in his home state of Arizona. He lived in the midwest for several years where he fished for lake run salmon and steelhead and also spent time exploring the driftless region of Wisconsin, fly rod in tow. It wasn't until he moved to Humboldt County in 2012 and started to pursue anadromous species that he became fully immersed in the sport. He bought his first two handed fly rod shortly thereafter and has never looked back.
As a guide, Drew brings a wealth of experience and knowledge when it comes to swinging flies for sea run fish on California's North Coast. Along with guiding locally in Northern California, Drew has also guided in Alaska and Washington state. He is dedicated to the craft and history of the sport, and strives to ensure that you leave the river a better angler at the end of the day.
